Hi All,
I get images from family, but they are huge (in viewable size). Is there a setting in OE6 that scales the pictures so they are viewable. (Not having to scroll right and down to see it all) Chad |

Save it to yoor HDD and resize it there. If you do not have a photo imaging
program, you can download InfranView (free) at: www.irfanview.com or: http://www.tucows.com/preview/194967.html -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "CLS" <A@B.CA> wrote in message news:ujx7ncLDGHA.3784@TK2MSFTNGP15.phx.gbl... > Hi All, > > I get images from family, but they are huge (in viewable size). > > Is there a setting in OE6 that scales the pictures so they are viewable. > (Not having to scroll right and down to see it all) > > Chad > |

No, but you can Save the pix to your hard-drive and resize them.

No. Save the image then use an image viewer such as the Windows Picture
and Fax viewer. And unless you are planning to make high quality prints from the files, you might suggest to your family that the resize the pictures before sending. That will also make them smaller and messages send and download faster. You can pass along the following information to them: If you are scanning an image for display on a monitor, setting the scanner resolution to about 100 DPI (dots per inch) is reasonable. If you have already have an image and want to make it smaller, many image editing programs have such a function (often called resample, resize, or stretch). It's important that you reduce the image number of pixels (picture elements). Some programs offer an option to change the display resolution. This doesn't alter the image or file size, it just tells display programs what resolution to use when they display the image. Many display programs ignore that option and display at a fixed resolution. Most scanners and digital cameras include a simple image editing program. Depending on your version of Windows, you may be able to use the Windows Paint program. Others are available at shareware sites. See the URL in my signature for links to shareware sites.
