What attachments?

Post the complete error messages (Registers not needed) and the type of
attachment associated with each one.

Is the machine fully up-to-date at Windows Update? Is an anti-virus
application installed and configured properly?

[Your installed anti-virus app should be configured to seek and install
updates automatically, daily, at a time when the machine is usually running
and connected to the internet. It should also be configured to run a full
system scan a few minutes after seeking/installing updates, also daily.
Anything less is simply insufficient these days.]

Check your URL HTTP Protocol, your URL HTTP Protocol with Privacy and your
mailto settings.

The program paths need to be fully specified and not contain ~s (tildes) and
also the path needs to be enclosed in quotes if there are spaces in it.

Errors about "can't find program.exe" are generally caused by a shortcut
that is missing quote marks as in
"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe"
