This seems like such an obvious thing for MS to include in their product, to
be able to set the order for checking mail accounts. Or to at least make checking mail in a consistent (i.e. alphabetical) order. Has anyone heard if MS is planning to fix this problem? I have tried changing account names, deleteing then creating accounts in different orders, etc., but the check mail seems to pick them in a random order. Certainly to click on each mail account individually to check mail is not a reasonable option to have to do every time. Thank you. "Jim Pickering" wrote: > Glad to help. I'm not aware of any plans by Microsoft to do that. I don't think they
consider the order accounts are checked to be important. Some people find that it checks the newest account first and the oldest account last. Some people find that it does neither. My machine does neither and on top of that it uses a different order when I'm connected to the Starband satellite than when I'm connected to a dial-up. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE Please respond in Newsgroup only. My OE6 does not send according to alphabetical sequence nor does it send
according to the order the mail accounts are created. i've tried adding alphebetical sequences to the begining of each mail account name and I've also tried deleting email accounts and recreating them in different orders. The order of checking email is still random. I only use dialup, and that is why it is important to check important personal mail before the junk mail accounts. I just can't believe that Microsoft has not fixed this yet, after all the versions of OE they've had out there for so many years! But thanks for your input. Its even more complicated than that. I recently had to clear all the
messages on the server (I leave them on for several days normall), and when I did that, the order of account checking changed. Go figure. steve "Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE" <franksaunders@mvps.org> wrote in message news:84A3AC9E-8130-40FD-964C-A72224185CBD@microsoft.com... > "bb_aes" <bb_aes@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:42347E71-B374-4640-9B7D-7E0D23663686@microsoft.com... >> This seems like such an obvious thing for MS to include in their product, >> to >> be able to set the order for checking mail accounts.
