I have some songs (MP3 format) that I can access without any problem from my
profile (Administrator) but when I log in with another profile (Limited Account) I get the following message: Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct. I have already check if the MP3 is protected with restricted license but there's not license what so ever, can anybody help out on why I'm unable to play the mp3 from other profile other than my own, this only happens with a couple of MP3 Files I try to reproduce, not all the files. I have: Windows XP (SP2) Media Player v10.0 NTFS |

If you downloaded the file *as an administrator* (not a good thing to be doing from a security standpoint) then it will have your permissions on it - nobody else can access it, including WMP running under the profile of an unprivileged user. I'd try to "take ownership" of the file(s) as admin, then assign their permissions to the Users group instead : http://support.microsoft.com/default...308421&sd=tech HTH Cheers - Neil >I have already check if the MP3 is protected with restricted license but >there's not license what so ever, can anybody help out on why I'm unable to >play the mp3 from other profile other than my own, this only happens with a >couple of MP3 Files I try to reproduce, not all the files. > >I have: >Windows XP (SP2) >Media Player v10.0 >NTFS > > |
