Default Severe Issue with WMP 10

I'm having an issue with WMP10 that is unique to me as far as i've seen, ever
sicne I downloaded the newest version of WMP10 on around Oct. 2, my computer
has been unable to play any video files. Whenever I try to play videos in
either WMP 10, or Quicktime, my CPU Use shoots up to 100% when its usually at
a steady 2-12% and my computer becomes almost impossible to use unless I shut
down the video using the task manager. I've already spent a number of hours
going through my computer with all the Adaware software I could find hoping
that that might do something, it didn't

If anyone has any ideas for whats wrong with it, i'd be very grateful

That sounds more like a video card driver problem to me... does
http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#vdriver
help?

(speaking for myself and doing this in my free time)
