I have a problem playing certain .avi files in media player, this has nothing
to do with codecs because i've played some of the files in it before. Usually there is a box that asks whether or not i want to play the file and a check box is present that says always do the following and i clicked no by mistake, now it will not play the files. Is there a way for me to restore the default settings of media player? i removed and reinstalled media player but the settings are still saved. |

The settings should be under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer , most likely, but possibley HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer , presumably identified with the string ".avi"... ? -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
