I am listening to Windows Media play a .wav file as I am typing this
message. It is playing just fine. I would like to burn this .wav file to a CD. The CD is blank. The .wav file is 25 minutes. When I click burn WM returns error message: "C00D1199: Cannot play the file. The file type is not supported by the Player. Huh what? It is playing it just fine! How can it say it can't play the file when it clearly can? I am listening to it! I am NOT trying to listen and burn the file at the same time! |

Does the player burn WAV files... ? I know it burns MP3s and WMAs... do *those* work for you? -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. From the Windows Media Player Help File F1 under the section "Burning your own CDs", it says: You can burn an audio CD from the following file types stored in your library: ..Windows Media Audio (WMA) files with a .wma extension ..mp3 files ..wav files So I don't see why it shouldn't work. Is the help file wrong? |

You'd have to ask someone else - I've never been interested in burning any WAV files to CD with the burner WMP uses. I use Nero for all my burning needs, since it offers lots of functionality WMP's burner can't. I tried it just now on my system and it didn't work. So YMMV. -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
