There's a performance hit to opening a file and inspecting the metadata, and WMP doesn't do that unless it has to. So you get the "boring" track name until you take the performance hit and open the file. One solution is to use Rename & Rearrange in WMP's Tools:Options to set the file names to their metadata-based names... -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. It would fully suffice me if I saw the file name because all my files are all named "<Interpret> - <Album> - TitleNo>.mp3". In addition, I set album, title, artist in the files. How exactly do I make the player to show me either the filename or for example the title? And what did you mean by "WMP's Tools:Option"? |

Oooooooooh. I get you know. It's reversed - their ID3 tags are screwy, the filenames are right. Set the tags for those files in WMP's Media Library. =) -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. Ok, thanks for that info.
But is it right, that I would have to edit each file manually? Is there no way to just configure the display information, so that for example the filename is displayed instead of the track name? Yep, that'd be something to do per file... that original ripping program should have done that, really. I'm stunned it didn't. No, there's no such option that I'm aware of. -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
