That's not coming from WMP. What's the exact text of the prompt you see? That will help me guess as to where it's coming from. WMP's Tools:Options:File Types dialog is superior to most other options here, FWIW. -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. Thanks for the reply. It's the explorer file association box, I verified file
associations within WMP as you suggested before: "Choose the program you want to use to open this file" It lists WMP and iTunes as recommended programs, I've checked off "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" but it never remembers. WMP wil only open these file types w/o a prompt if they're listed in the library and will always prompt for others?? -- Tony "zachd [ms]" wrote: > > That's not coming from WMP. > > What's the exact text of the prompt you see? "Choose the program you want to open this file" does different things than WMP's Tools:Options:File Types, which is why I suggested you use the File Types dialog. Yes, WMP is default for all file types:

Hm. Well, that prompt is not coming from WMP, and if WMP's dialogs are checked, then we think the associations make sense in our world. Since I don't know what that "open with" prompt is evaluating, it's hard to say what's tripping this up. It would probably be some registry setting, which could in theory be tracked down with either registry tracking software or astute following of what's going on in the registry... =\ -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
