I am also having this problem but it won't access any media files at all.
Can't find help anywhere some here PLEASE!!!! How did mmswitch.ax get on your system? Did you install some sort of codec pack? ......... It had to come from somewhere.... MS doesn't install it, and it was never "released", just installed by some really not desirable codec packages. Well, you'd want to get rid of it. my husband had one of his computer friends look at it and he installed a
codec pack to try and fix it for us so it was only there in the last few days. BUt I have fixed the problem because it all did happen after windows did an update so I just uninstalled service pack 2 then reinstalled it and all the recent updates again and now everything is working fine.
