Default Problem changing from WMP version 9 to WMP version10

I just installed WMP 10. Now I can't play any of the songs in mine or my
kids playlists (wow, are they ticked off!!!). The lists show up fine, and i
can highlight them etc., but they just aren't recognized.
When installing WMP 10, does the computer delete WMP 9 while installing the
newer version or is WMP 9 still somewhere in my programs??? Do I have to
delete WMP 9??? Can I delete WMP 9 if I want to save space??? Can I salvage
the playlists or do we have to start from scratch???

Can anyone help???

* WMP upgrades in place, so WMP9 is replaced by WMP10.
* You can't and don't want to delete WMP9. You'd break things if you did
that.

* How does it not recognize them? What error do you get?

Now Playing: "If I Lose" by "Aretha Franklin" in WMP10.
