I just bought a 19" LCD monitor.
I have a 19" regular flat screen that's my main monitor, hooked into the motherboard's onboard intel 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset. The montior is set for 1600x1200x32 bits at 75hz. I bought the 19" LCD and decided to try it out with my old NVidia GeForce 2 MX400 card. The LCD monitor is set for 1280x1024x32 at 75 hertz. I've tried it at 16 bits as well, but the result is the same. If I play video on the LCD, it has a tendency to be more pixelated. I'm playing mostly AVIs that I've encoded myself. The image is blocky and pixelated as if the encoding were much lower quality than it is. But when I play it on the regular monitor, it looks fine. It originally shipped with MS drivers. I then upgraded to the latest NVidia drivers, but there was no improvement. Does the card simply not support the necessary hardware acceleration to display the video well? So, my question is, what's the problem, and if the problem can't be diagnosed from what I've provided so far, how can I diagnose it beyond this? Thanks. Pete |

Yeah, I'd suspect video driver support issues, too.... if you tweak the video hardware acceleration, does it show up any clearer? -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
