ActiveSync and the WMP-device connection protocol are different. Is there a firmware update from iRiver for the device? -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. Now Playing: "Rose Rouge" by "St. Germain" in WMP10. -- "Belinda" <Belinda@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:5B28560E-D486-4F5E-9BC9-650A380F90AA@microsoft.com... > When using windows media player for syncronizing to iriver H340 40GB, pc > does > not detect connection, however the device notifies of a connection and > icon > on bottom toolbar also indicates a connection. Please help going insane. Is this a US model? Outside the US, the H340 does not support sync with Windows Media Player. You have to copy the files with Windows Explorer. Tim |

Yes, an unadvertised feature of the non-US firmware. Although, of course, according to Microsoft's own site, WMP 10 is not supported for non-US English versions of Windows, and we're supposed to wait for UK, Australian etc releases of WMP. There are several alternate programs for working with these iRiver devices. You may need to bug iRiver support for updated software to support WMA (which it is *supposed* to support out of the box, but the default software doesn't support it). I recommend going to the http://www.misticriver.net/ site for information on these devices. |
