Hi,
My scenario is the following: - Windows XP SP2 with Windows Media Player 10 - Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard with Intellitype drivers - Not using Windows XP Themes. - WMP minimized as a regular application, not to its own toolbar. In this case, the pause/play buttons of the keyboard don´t work when WMP is minimized. They WORK when WMP is not minimized, even if it is not the active application (just in background). Searching Google I have found several posts with the same problem, but no solution. Also, I have already read the official FAQs of Windows Media Player and the ones of zachd [ms] but the issue does not appear. Needless to say that this problem is quite annoying since it forces me to restore/maximize WMP to pause it.... Is there a solution for this problem? Best regards, Carlos Quintero |

What *version* of the Intellitype drivers are you using? 5.3 is the latest, and should be fine against your keyboard. (I was doing this exact scenario just now using my keyboard...) -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Now Playing: "Justice" by "The Sun" in WMP10. -- "Carlos J. Hi Zach,
The keyboard is Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard 1.0A and the driver version is IntelliType 5.2, which is the latest in Spanish (5.3 is not available yet, I have just checked it). Do you know certainly that this problem was addressed in version 5.3? If so, maybe I could install the English version, just for testing and then wait for the Spanish version... I have just installed the English IntelliType 5.3 and the problem persists:
the Play/Pause key does not work if Windows Media Player is minimized. Interestingly, the Stop key DOES work, and the Next Track/Previous Track do work too, so there is a problem only with the Play/Pause key. More ideas?
