Default Audio Tapes To CD?

I have a new computer with Windows media Player 10. I also now have a
CD writer and a DVD writer. I am somewhat clueless about the
capabilities of any of these.
I was asked if I could use these to convert my audio casettes to CDs.
Does any one know if this can be done and if possible how? Or maybe
someone knows a site where I can get this information.
Thanks for any and all help.

Plus! Digital Media Edition
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/plu...sic.asp#analog

"Bring your aging vinyl records and cassette tapes into the digital age.
With Plus! Analog Recorder, you can transform all your old tracks into
clean, vibrant digital music files. Use special cleanup filters to reduce
the hissing and popping sounds caused by old media and recording devices."
