Is it working now ? Seems fine (after a weekend outage) in the UK.

Neil,

We are having the same problem in US. Some friends in other countries are
also having the service down. So as you are saying it is up after a week,
this means - I hope- that one week later they will run the server up again.

I wish there was a warning or something like that, like msn messenger it
pops up and says the system will be down in 5 minutes..

No not necessarily fixed. I'm loading some CD's and it's getting the
info from AMG quite OK. However it seems the "find album info" is the
specific path that's broken and I can't see what the problem is.

I've reported this problem to some contacts, waiting for feedback.

All the album info finds I've tried come back from AMG fine. As do
albums from "user submitted feedback" sources. These are the ones I've
tried so far :

Franz Ferdinand, Kate Bush, Sigur Ros, Zutons Ozric Tentacles,
Sidestepper, Basement Jaxx [All AMG] and The Big Fish (user feedback)

Do you have specific albums which you are having problems with ?
It would be helpful to know, to build a test case.

Also - which region are you in - your mates are outside the USA -
which countries ? I'm in the UK and no current problems as I say. It
could possibly be region specific though, like most of the WM
services.

Well any properly written website should have a "service out please
try later" or even say "we're fixing this expected repair by blah
date" rather than generic error messages.

I'm not sure you could hook it into everybodys MSN though (you'd have
to know who to contact out of millions of people ;-)

HTH
Cheers - Neil

Well, `find album info` doesn't work at all, except the files that are ripped
from original CD's. My mates are in Turkey and they also have the same
problem. In one of the other media player related newsgroups, I see more
people suffering from the same shortage.

Just out of interest - if you delete your IE browser temporary
internet files, does that change the resulting page shown ?

I'm just curious - no real evidence that this would have any effect...
