What I want to do is pretty common -- take several .mp3 files and put them
on a CD that will play on any CD player. That is, _not_ as .mp3 files. I just upgraded to Media Player 10, selected the files (put them on the left side of the window), and clicked to start the burn. After the files were coverted, etc., or whatever they do, finished the process, but when I tried to read the disc, it appeared as "no disc" in my CD player. What did I do wrong? |

By using WMP to burn files to a CD it simply burns the files as-is. You
could do that with windows explorer just as easily. You need to burn an Audio CD. By using some third party s/w that you may have installed, such as Nero. The software will convert the MP3 files to CDA that audio CDs use. |

I did this a while back using Win XP Sp1. Unfortunately, I don't remember the exact steps. I believe that once I inserted the blank CD in the cd burner, I somehow selected some option that told it that it was going to be an audio disc and the rest was pretty straight forward. I will document this the next time I do this, if possible this weekend. If so, I will post results here.
