I've got the same problem. Just upgraded to WMP10, and all but 3 of my
playlists are gone (?), with all my files being thrown into one big group. I
have Windows XP. I had the same problem when I upgraded before. I the
playlists are stored in my hard drive, where can I find them?

It was all so simple on mp9.
