Videos On The Web Play Using Old WMP 6 When I Have WMP 10 Installe

Just recently videos embedded on websites have been playing using the old
Windows Media Player 6 version when I currently have Windows Media Player 10
installed on my machine!

I can't find where to edit the settings, so that I can stream embedded media
using version 10...this is so annoying

Can anyone help me out
