How do I unroll to an earlier version of WMP, the latest version repeatedly
and totally crashes my new PC - one of the older versions used to do this on my old computer, it can't even send an error report, this is a very frequent problem. Why do these problems reoccur for WMP, I'm going to stop uding it. |

I'm having the same problem, I hope someone will answer your question! I'm
using WinXP service pack 2, I installed WMP version 10 several days ago and ever since, my whole system will lock up after about 3 hours of use. I'm then unable to close Yahoo or any web page I happen to be on, can't shut down, The three-finger salute doesn't work. can't even turn off the computer by using the on/off switch. The only thing I can do is unplug. I hate doing this, it's not good for the machine. I have a fairly new computer, built by a knowledgeable person. I have plenty of HD space & RAM, have never had this problem until I updated WMP. I've tried uininstalling it but all it will do is re-install! I've done this a couple of times, exiting McAfee Anti Virus and Spy Sweeper before reinstalling. Doesn't help. If I ever get an answer to this, I'll post it here. Meanwhile, I'm hoping someone will come up with a solution. -- Virginia "CAS" wrote: > How do I unroll to an earlier version of WMP, the latest version repeatedly > and totally crashes my new PC - one of the older versions used to do this on > my old computer, it can't even send an error report, this is a very frequent > problem. Hooray! After I wrote to you yesterday, it dawned on me to use Restore Point
so I could get my computer back to the way it was BEFORE I installed WMP10 - - and it worked! Now I'm back using an earlier version of WMP that gives me no problems at all. I'm a happy camper now. I don't know what OS you're using, if you have Restore Point, give it a try. I'm using WINXP. -- Virginia "dotless" wrote: > I'm having the same problem, I hope someone will answer your question!
