Default Video and Audio output(!!) via Firewire???

Hi folks,

I would like to replace all my audio / video components by using a media
center PC + an high end AV receiver with IEEE1394 input. Will it be possible
to transfer decoded digital audio / video signals from the computer to the
AV receiver where all speakers and the TV set etc. are connected to.

Thanks in advance for any answer or hint
Dietmar

There's a dedicated microsoft.public.windowsmedia.hometheater.pc
newsgroup for this, it's where the media center experts hang out.
Would be worth posting the question there if you don't get any useful
answers here.

I'm not too sure about audio transfer over firewire - though I guess
there's no reason it shouldn't work (or be made to work), I can't
remember reading about this capability in media center.

HTH
Cheers - Neil
