Default Wav or mp3?

I have alot of music on WAV format. Besides saving space, can I still burn
music to cd using MP3 and can I do this using Windows Media Player? I convert
reel to reel and cassette tapes to cd now using WAV format but am concerned
about memory space and I cannot use the Advanced Tag Editor using WAV format
but will be able to tag them in MP3. Any suggestions?

You might prefer to use WMA Lossless as it is "mathematically equivalent
" to WAV ie like a zipped up WAV file. It will save you space without
losing quality. In practice you might like to save (taged versions of)
these files offline and keep compressed MP3 or WMA files locally for
adhoc use.
