Default SAMI files and windows media server streaming files........

Hi I am trying to setup closed caption subtitles on a windows media stream
using SAMI files. I have managed to get the SAMI file to work through an .asx
file both locally and also on a webserver with the SAMI (SMI) file and
content file (WMV) in the same directory but this is downloadable!

I want to be able to put the content file on a streaming media server and
link the SAMI and content file through the .asx file BUT when I do this the
content file plays fine through the .asx file but the SAMI does not work as
the captions and caption bar never appear.

I know that captions are on on my player, that the SAMI file can be
referenced and works so.........DO SAMI files work with streaming content?
Not just downloadable content?

I have also tried to put the SAMI file in the content directory on the
streaming media server and referenced it through the .asx file and this still
does not work.

DO I need to embed my player and SAMI file into a webpage to be able to get
captions to work with a streaming file from a windows media server?

Default RE: SAMI files and windows media server streaming files........

Just to clarify the .asx file I used to refrence the SAMI and content where
actually refrencing local files on my laptop and this worked. The files on
either a webserver, windows streaming server or .asx and SAMI on web and
content on streaming server DO NOT WORK! The content streams without
subtitles! And no error.....

Thanks,

Andy

Answered my own question I now have SAMI subtitles working with streaming
server content - the SAMI and .asx files must be servered on a windows 2003
server it seems.
