I was promted to download the new Windows Media Player 10 late last year eary
this year. I did this and it never worked and I could never play ANYTHING on it. I finally just decided to only run Windows Media Player 9 and now it's running just fine. Why did I have a problem with Windows Media Player 10 and is there anything I can do to fix the problem so I can run and use the "Player 10" ? |

i could never play anything that required my media player, no music cds, no
dvds, nothing online, like a movie clip or the sort, nothing... i always got and error message but i cant tell you what it was because i never wrote it down nor did i remember it... i recall it being just one lline long with just a few words... oh it said something like, there was no media player found or installed (or something like that)... i never understood it and was upset that i could never use it "Ted Zieglar" wrote: > "...it never worked and I could never play ANYTHING on it" doesn't provide > any details on your problem(s). > > -- > Ted Zieglar > "You can do it if you try." > > "Jai" <Jai@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:08051AB5-CC78-4597-9452-38D73DBA463D@microsoft.com... > > I was promted to download the new Windows Media Player 10 late last year > eary > > this year. But I said what it couldn't do... how hard is it to see it just wouldnt work
for me... and any GOOD doctor could pin point the pain with some COMPASSION, LISTENING skills, and KNOWLEGDGE of what their doing (I know, I have a GOOD doctor and no problem COMMUNICATING to her any problems) and besides "MIKE" you are NOT a doctor nor is this a doctor's office. If YOU can't help me, than fine, forget about my concern and never again respond to any of my problems, and I thank you very much for doing so! Strangely, I actually am a doctor..... [Looks at 'wall of certificates and awards lovingly....] Let's take it from the top....: Hm. No one here would be able to say why the v10 player doesn't work for you based upon the information you supplied. Why don't you try it again and let us know exactly what happens? That way there will be concrete information for other people to assess. =) http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#isolate is the "Patient Checklist That You Fill Out Before You Get To See the Doctor". Cheers, -Zach -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. Cause this newsgroup is operated by volunteers like Mike, who give freely of their spare time to help solve users problems. And sometimes that investment in time is wasted by being met with responses from posters such as yourself which do nobody any justice Without providing structured information about the steps to reproduce a problem report, you're simply in danger of becoming another "wtf, let' move on" post. Nobody, myself included, has the time to decipher vague posts to determine the root of your problem - so you have to learn to post concise, accurate problem reports if you want any useful responses. For example : What are we to make of this ? "i always got and error message but i cant tell you what it was because i never wrote it down nor did i remember it... i recall it being just one lline long with just a few words... oh it said something like, there was no media player found or installed (or something like that)." > and besides "MIKE" >you are NOT a doctor nor is this a doctor's office. neil, as a Christian woman i know church isn't the only place where
compassion is (or should be for that matter). i am fully aware of the fact that this is a "technial support group" and that is why i said what i did to "mike". his reply wasn't a "technical" one nor was yours or my reply to you. and your right this "not an ego masssing group", so if my discription is vague KEEP THE OUTSIDE COMMENTS in your head and just state, "jai, your discription was vague, and i didnt understand it. can you provide more detial?" you cant "help solve a problem" when your making unnecessary comments such as these reply post between us three, mike, you, and myself. i am not "wasting" anybody's time if i describe what i experience (but this is a waste of time). and like i said to mike, i'll say to you, if you cant help and you dont want to be professional and/or technical, then fine "move on". you and mike are not the only people in this group (or any other group) that can help me. i am the one who needs help, obviously i'm not knowledgeable to the techinal aspect of the software i use, and thats why i came here, to get help (if i can) but i am not going to let anyone talk to me in a manner i dont like. i would rather you or anyone else compelled to reply with an unnecessary, non technical reply to just "move on" like you said. and we will all save each other time. thank you "Neil Smith [MVP Digital Media]" wrote: > On Tue, 13 Dec 2005 15:46:02 -0800, Jai > <Jai@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > > >But I said what it couldn't do... how hard is it to see it just wouldnt work > >for me... and any GOOD doctor could pin point the pain with some COMPASSION, > > <Yawn> This is a technical support group, *not* an ego massaging > group.
