Default Ripping music from CDs

Hello,I am wondering how to set the speed of my burner (CD writer) within
WMP when making an audio CD from MP3 files in my hard disc.I do not see any
settings in the options window.
What is happening is that I tried to make a CD and it burns 1 or 2 files and
closes the disk,I have done it numerous times with the same results. Finally
I have used Nero to burn and set its speed to 16 times, and it works just
fine.
Thanks for any information

Alberto

You don't - the system CD burner is very limited.
http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#xpcdburn
may help, but if you want to do *anything* fancy, you'll need to use a
stand-alone burner.

Thanks zachd for your answer.
Now,if understand you well, what you are saying is that the burner speed can
not be adjusted from within the WMP (like it can in Nero) ,for every
"burning" event,and then,does the WMP "see" my burner's specifications,so
automatically uses the max speed available?

I've got no idea. The burner you're using in WMP is the system IMAPI
burner, and I don't think any developer on the WMP team has any direct
knowledge of what they're doing under the covers when we hand them the data.

You're asking for features that you'd find in a Featured burner. The XP
burner is a free toy burner. If it works for you, awesome, but don't get
confused and think it's any kind of serious burner. =\

FWIW, IMAPI does expose this in the Recording properties on the burning
drive in question. So you can adjust this.
