I noticed recently that when someone sent me an email message with .wmv
attachment, I got no sound with Windows Media Player (v10). Doing assorted diagnostic things, I have found that even something as simple as .wav, Windows Media Player does not make any sound although it goes through the motions (making the pretty water picture, moving the bar along the bottom for the duration of the supposed sound, shows the length of the sound, etc.). When I instead save to "open with" a different audio program choice (MusicMatch Jukebox), the .wav plays just fine. Thus, I conclude there is nothing wrong with my hardware or speaker volume or any of those things, but something wrong with Windows Media Player 10. Any ideas or suggestions? -- Dian |
