? This is like the 30th post this week on this subject.... What DVD decoder are you using? http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#mpeg2 -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. I have to believe it's using the default/wrong soundtrack. There's usully
quite a few on a DVD - Dolby 5.1, DTS, 2-channel, and different languages. Every player should work with 2-channel (2.0). Try scrolling through the audio options. I don't use WMP for DVDs. Get a real PC DVD player like PowerDVD or WinDVD. "Joe" wrote: > after downloading media player 10, I get systems sounds, but when I play a > DVD movie I do not get any sound. The mute is not on. Intriguingly, you can view and set the exact "soundtrack" WMP uses under WMP's "Play:Audio and Language Tracks" menu item. Since it has to be set to something, and that something has to be decoded by a non-Microsoft MPEG2 decoder. . . . . -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
