Default WMP can't play its own files.

I have wma files that can play in other players like Winamp, JetAudio and
even RealPlayer but not on Window Media Player 7.1 with my Win 98 system.
Can anybody offer any help here? Thanks.

More detailed symptoms would help. Is there an error message or
something else that happens?

Where do the WMA files come from?
