Everything in Windows Media works fine except for when I click on a radio
station or any radio station it says in the bottom portion "connecting to media" and then after about 3 sec. a window pops up that says "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem and needs to close" I've tried the "debug" button but all it does is close the Media Player. I've removed Media Player and reinstalled numerous times only to come up with the same fault everytime. I've also tried a system restore, still the same fault. I just played some of the radio stations last week so I know it's not my Internet connection. All of the sudden I ran into this problem, I don't know what caused it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Yes I've sent up the crash report several times.
I did notice that it will let me play radio stations 32k and under, if I pick a higher number, that's when I get the error. A little more common, but still very rare. The last was almost unique. =) But yeah - from that bucket, again 'scrauth.dll' and scrblock.dll pop to my eyes. So the questions from the last post probably need answering. =) Thanks very much - this helps me as much as it helps you. -Zach -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. That's a very rare crash. 4 instances ever. What's inkpeek.dll, if that's on your system...? I don't think you do, though - I think that's somebody else's cab, since the latest cab (yours, I presume) is not available. But I *am* betting that you have scrauth.dll and scrblock.dll. Which is pretty nice, actually, since I'm relatively certain that that's the cause of your problems. *crosses fingers* Do you have those on your system? What version? What version of Symantec are you using? Is there any update available from Symantec... ? If you: === Disable Script Blocking in Norton AntiVirus by right clicking the Norton AntiVirus icon and select Configure Norton AntiVirus, in the Options dialog that appears mark Script Blocking and make sure Enable Script Blocking is not marked. === , then the player shouldn't crash like this. But I would think that either Symantec or WMP has a bug here... which is why I'm curious if you're using the latest/current Symantec product. Please do tell - this is interesting. =) -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. I don't have scrauth.dll and scrblock.dll at least under the "search" file I
didn't. As far as Norton, I have Norton System Premier 2005 and Norton Antivirus. Media Player 10 radio just worked a couple of weeks ago with these programs installed, however I tried to disable both the Windows Firewall and the Antivirus and I still end up with the same faults. I couldn't figure out the script blocking under the Antivirus program as it is just a basic program that only lets me setup the scheduling and on what drives it checks. I did run into a few more codes the many times I've tried to get the radio to work. As I've stated before, I can access radio stations 32k and below just not any higher. I appreciate your time in helping me out with this problem. Here are the new bucket codes: 1) 191719519 2) 175904961 3) 188763828 4) 173131789 5) 247500106 6) 232592944 I don't know if this will help narrow down the problem or not, hopefully it does. Interesting..... What's tempiadhide3.dll? Is this on your system? I'm still not sure if I'm looking at your exact crash cab for your bucket, but this has matched up more and again entwines over into the IE space, which seems to be where you're having problems according to those cabs. -Zach -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
