Default How can I hide JPG files in WMP's File Open dialog box?

Hi!

I used to open MP3 files using File>Open. menu command. Unfortunately the
default value of combo box 'Files of type' in File Open dialog box is
'Multimedia files (all types)'. This causes something which irritates me.
File list shows MP3 files and JPG files - the thumbnails of album covers.

This problem occurs when Windows Explorer setting 'Hide extensions of known
file types' is set to false (the thumbnails are hidden files). I want to see
hidden files in other Explorer windows, so change of this setting is not a
solution for me.

Is there a possibility to get rid of these JPG files? The ideal solution
would be the possibility to change default value of 'Files of type' combo
box to 'Audio files.'.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

JK

You can modify that list under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\ Player\Extensions ...
