Which DVD decoder are you using? http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#mpeg2 -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. I don't know much about this. If I run the "dvdupgrd.exe /detect" I see
DShow SW: Name: "NDxVidDec.ax" Company Name "Ahead Software AG" Version: 2.0.2.20. The Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility shows Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility shows CyberLink/Video/SP Decoder clvsd.ax 3.5.0.1303. (it says it's not compatible with the synchronization features of WMP10. This means that you are running the Nero DVD decoder alongside the CyberLink decoder. You don't want to run multiple DVD decoders. Can you uninstall the Nero decoder? -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. Thanks for reply... Happy Holidays!
There is no uninstall anywhere that I can find. (I don't know/remember how it got installed in the first place, maybe Dell includes it?.) Any advice? I didn't have any problems as best I as I tell, until I upgraded to SP2, if that helps at all. You should contact Nero support and ask them how to uninstall their software... =\ -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. I don't have any support relationship with Nero, don't know what product
installed this & when, and frankly not even sure I could make a case with them it has anything to do with their software. I was hoping since the XP2 install upgrade seems to have triggered this, someone would be able to help me. I guess I'll just use a different DVD player on my computer and grit my teeth and remember that when you run an upgrade, you are exposed to having it cause problems that you may not be able to fix. Oh well.
