WMP ver 9.0, windows XP home, when we play back MP3 files at a loud level the
volume seems to be going up and down, enough that you can notice it. Is this a problem with WMP, my sound card, or possibly the speakers? I'm not interested in any kind of volume leveling since the MP3's play fine when they are on a cd-r played back on a stereo. Thanks |

Could you explain the volume going "up and down"? That doesn't equate to anything I'm familiar with. You mean as if somebody was moving the volume between Loud and Soft, or ... ? If that's the case, then no, this couldn't be in WMP, really. I'd suspect the speakers first, since you say it only happens for a 'loud level'. -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. loud or soft , up or down, it's about the same to me, it's not a drastic
difference from loud to soft, but it's enough to notice the MP3 is not at the same level thru out the song. Speakers are Harmon Kardon 3 pc set, sound card is a OEM audigy from Dell |
