Default Viewing on a TV with ATI catalyst

Win XP pro with ATI Radeon 8500. Catalyst control center. I have all
the new drivers properly installed. I want to display my computer video
output to my TV for movies. All is properly cabled via svideo and ready to
go. I have it set for Theater Mode. When I use "extend main to TV" all I
can see is the wallpaper, no icons or other displays. When I hit "CLONE to
TV", I see everything but the output is too big for the screen. If I move
the mouse back & forth or up & down the screen slides to it's end. How do I
get the output of media player to fit my TV screen. It works in other apps
like Power DVD, why not media player? Thanks!

Can you be more specific Zach? Also when I load or close a movie, the
screen goes black for a couple of seconds. Thanks!

The link should cover it. If not, tell me what's unclear and I'll fix up
the link. =)

When WMP is open, and I attempt to go to "open a file", it crashes. This
doesn't happen when I double click a file to play. Is this a related problem
to my viewing the output correctly on my TV?

Well, the original question was about playback on the TV. Got that working
yet?

As far as crashing,
http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#bucket
is the first step there. Since "crash" doesn't directly translate to any
useful data, the crash bucket number helps bridge that gap. =)
