Can WMP 10 capture still images or video clips from DVDs?

Yes, still images : And there's a menu item when playing a DVD View -> DVD features ->Capture Image To "capture" video you need to extract the VOB from the DVD using something like SmartRipper to decrypt and gather the MPEG file. I went to View, DVD Features, but there is no Capture Image menu option.
There's only root menu, title menu, close menu, back, camera angle, and update DVD information.. You said WMP10, right ? What version does it list when you go to Help
menu and choose "About windows media player" ? Heh. If ALT-SHIFT-PRINTSCREEN isn't there (or if you can't turn down video hardware acceleration), than your machine is not Windows XP.
