A problem has recently cropped up on my AMD based XP Pro system, that's
driving me nuts. While surfing the internet, I usually have mp3's playing in the background on WMP, I have never had any problems doing this until recently. Now it seems that any internet activiity causes WMP and any other players to freeze. I can listen to mp3's with no problem until I open Firefox (haven''t tried with IE) then it's like russian roulette with every url click until eventually I click on a link then my whole system freezes completely in a loud audio loop. The only way to bring it back is to turn the power off and restart. Again, I usually have music going in the background anytime that I'm surfing but now it's impossible without a complete system freeze up. Any ideas as to what is going on here? |

Sounds very much like a conflict between your audio card driver and your network driver. http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#dsound maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay help, but check for audio card and network card driver updates. =\ -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
