Default Bad video

I have had a bad video image problem now for ages, whether its older version
media player , media player 10 , divx , dvdplayer ..any type of video program
trying to play the avi, mpeg, or whatever file.
The sound is fine.. but the pictures play but all bleached out in effect and
the colours seem less ..My video card settings seem fine as
I play games and such, the video is perfect everywhere else.. just videos
have this issue.. Any ideas anyone??
