Default Unable to play wave files recorded in handheld

I have an old HP jornada 540 series handheld. I have some voice recordings in
it recorded using Notes ( I think the handheld notes software is different
from Lotus notes!)

Recently I tranferred the recording files to my Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop
running WIN XP pro. However I am not able to play the recording on Win media
player as I get the error message that classfactory does not support or
similar to it.

The error message is 80040111. Please advice on how to resolve the same.

thanks.

RIM
