Hello there,
Recently my WMP10 cannot work properly. Whatever .wmv link I click, it always returns the following message: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." I suspect that there has something to do with my downloading of software ALCOHOL recently. Can somebody help? Thanks a lot. |

hi Zach, I figured out the problem myself. It turned out that the speaker was
not located by WMP. I went to Options|Devices|Speaker and locate it manually. And it works. anyways, thanks for your help. sw "zachd [ms]" wrote: > > Good - that's nice information to know. > > Can it play local MP3, WAV, and MPEG files? > Can mplayer2.exe play these files? > > -Z > -- > (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) > See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. > This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. > -- > > "sw" <sw@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:E7B350D8-98C9-43B7-A0CB-F44E4F0430FF@microsoft.com... > > no, it can't play any file! help! > > > > "zachd [ms]" wrote: > > > >> > >> Do WMA and WMV files work if played back locally? > >> > >> -- > >> (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) > >> See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. > >> This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no > >> rights. > >> -- > >> > >> "sw" <sw@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > >> news:893C3EB6-EDF4-446C-881B-F5E373FA09EC@microsoft.com... > >> > Hello there, > >> > > >> > Recently my WMP10 cannot work properly.
