Default WMP10 Not Working: C00D1199

Hello there,

Recently my WMP10 cannot work properly. Whatever .wmv link I click, it
always returns the following message:

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the
file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."

I suspect that there has something to do with my downloading of software
ALCOHOL recently.

Can somebody help?

Thanks a lot.

Do WMA and WMV files work if played back locally?

Good - that's nice information to know.

Can it play local MP3, WAV, and MPEG files?
Can mplayer2.exe play these files?

hi Zach, I figured out the problem myself. It turned out that the speaker was
not located by WMP. I went to Options|Devices|Speaker and locate it manually.
And it works.

anyways, thanks for your help.
