Hi all. I bought an Ipod Shuffle, my computer, Itunes, etc. wouldn't
recognize it. I exchanged it for a Phillips 512 MB GoGear mp3 player,
and I'm having the same problem. I've seen hundreds of places on the
web where people are having this problem, but haven't found any
workable solutions. I plug it into my usb port, and it doesn't even
show in my device manager.

Any sugestions would be greatly appreicated!!!

With a Phillips device, it may require that you are logged as an
Administrator to recognize and synchronize the device. (This is a BAD
thing because it is a security risk for your computer when online.)

Since you also had problems with the iPod shuffle, then it's possible
the USB port is not working. Do any other USB devices work there?

Failing that, it could be a registry issue with USB mass storage devices.
