Default Music not adding to library

I have continuously tried to add new music to my library using the "search"
method on the menu bar and the "add to library" and they will not add.

I have over 3000 songs on my NAS drive and only 265 of them were added to
the library.

Any suggestions?

Hmm I don't know but I'm getting a NAS (a Linksys 'Slug') on Thursday
so I could try to test it on that ;-)

The number '256' is a very suspicious number indeed. It corresponds
exactly to how many items can be indexed by one byte (8 bits) of data.
Do you know who makes the NAS drive ? Are there any product support
groups for that device ?

Out of interest, which options (including advanced 'Add previously
deleted') were selected on your Add To Library dialog box ?

Cheers - Neil

Hey Neil... Happy New Year

I've tried that option, I've cleared the library and and did an F3 search to
the networked drive. I've even tried the 'add to library' option
individually. Nothing worked.

I have taken the WMA's and placed them on the local HD... still nothing. I
placed them in My Documents\My Music... still could not get them to load into
the Library.

WMP will Recognize, Queue, Play, sync, and even burn the files to CD. I
just can't get them to be added to the library, or DL the Media info on them.

What's wierd is that the two other programe I have (Musicmatch, dAP) will
find these files fine, and MusicMatch will even get the Album Info.

As for the NAS, it's made by SimpleTech, bought @ Best Buy. Because two
other apps seem to recognize the files, and WMP does not, I figure there is a
setting somewhere that I probably don't know about.

Again, Pls Advise.

Hey Neil... Happy New Year!

I have a SimpleTech Simple Share 250gb NAS and it seems to work just fine.
In fact, I've had two other apps (MusicMatch and dAP) run, and both of them
recognize and add these files to their respective Libraries. MusicMatch will
even get the album Info.

Having said that, I still would rather have WMP's interface.

But try as I might It just won't happen. WMP will recognize, play, queue,
sync and burn these WMA's. It just won't add them to the library. I've
even gone so far as to take a few songs out of the NAS and onto the local
drive... but to no avail.

Pls. advise.

For what it's worth, he said "265" not "256".

It sounds like Rob might want to check his options for "skip files smaller
than"
