Default WMP Playing wrong!

I had recently been looking at the Enhancments to see if there was anyway of
turning the bass up. Eventually i had found a way that would do it, so i was
playing around with this and i left it as it was for a while, then the next
day after i had switched the computer off all my music sounded like they were
singing under water and sounded really bubbley (If that makes sense!?) So
evenery that i had adjusted the day before i but back to the default
settings. Some tracks are okay, some still sounded like they are under water
and some i can hear the music more and the singing volume has decreased...
Is there anything i can do?

Is the right output selected under WMP's Tools:Optionsevices:Speakers?
Did you turn on some karaoke-esque mode in your sound card driver (or on the
speaker itself...)?
