Default video freeze

Can anyone help me? Anytime I try to play viedo content my screen becomes
black around the borders and the video plays in the middle. I have no
control, the mouse is no longer usaeable and the sreen freezes ounce the
video is finished. Has this happened to any one before? Note: It must be in
the settings because if I restore to an earlierd date it plays fine for
awhile. Help!, Jasmine
