Hi, I have a serious problem installing WMP 10. when I try I get the
following warning at the start of the install: Check before continuing setup The Setup Wizard has found one or more problems that could affect your installation. It is recommended that you turn off mini Player mode before continuing. Problem is, WMP is not installed, and there is no mini player toolbar to remove. If I carry on with the install regardless, and after what looks to be most of the install process, I get the following error: Cannot complete Windows Media Player 10 Setup It was not possible to complete Setup; Windows Media Player 10 was not installed. I follow the advice to restart my PC and try again, but it makes no difference, same problem. Interesting thing is: I previously had WMP installed (sorry but I forget the version, 9 probably), and I was using Mini Player mode. I'm wondering if the problem arose because of that. Maybe the uninstall screws up somehow if Mini Player mode is on at uninstall time. Anyway, I imagine there's a registry setting somewhere that needs zapping. Anyone know what it might be? Thanks in advance, I miss my WMP! Jon Starling |
