Uninstalling WMP isn't possible and doesn't affect the file associations. You would want to use WMP's Tools:Options:File Types menu or the system's Set Program Access and Defaults control panel. -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. I have already uninstalled WMP so I can't go in. I have gone in systems set
program a number of times and checked that I want Musicmatch as my default player clicked apply but when I go back into systems set program access and Defaults it is still there. Have you checked MusicMatch's file-ownership preferences? |

"If a program does not respond to your choice to enable or remove access to
it, please contact the vendor of that program." This is quoted from the text at the bottom of the Set Program Access and Defaults window. Did you really brute force remove WMP or are you just confused about the "uninstall" (which simply removes the shortcuts to WMP)? If you are still lost, you can hold right click on a file of the type you want to play with musicmatch, select "open with", then "choose program" and make musicmatch the default application to open those files. I own the SPAD support for WMP. But if Muffy is setting MusicMatch as default in SPAD and it's not taking effect, Muffy should contact MusicMatch, and they can talk to me if they're having problems. It's not really rocket science. But "uninstalling" WMP would certainly wreak havoc on associations, and doesn't make any sense. =) -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. I went in Add Remove programs and uninstalled it ,at least that's what I
thought. Can I retreive it? And start over. The entry in Add/Remove Programs only removes the standard Windows shortcuts
to WMP. This was added to help comply with demands to allow OEMs to set up Windows without WMP being "accessable". Microsoft claimed that WMP contained critical Windows components and could not be completely uninstalled, so as a compromise, MS added the ability to remove all of the shortcuts. It sounds like Musicmatch just doesn't register itself properly for the relatively new Program Access and Defaults feature. Are you running the most recent version of Musicmatch?
