I used to get email attachments with videos go automatically to my windows
media player for mac and it worked fine. Now it goes there but doesn't play and just says specified streaming video not recognized Also I used to get the windows media for mac on my sbc yahoo home page when I hit their video icon. Now all I get is the sbcyahoo video player which does't work on the mac. |

Hi Neil, thank you. I recently had erased all cookies and maybe THAT is what
caused the prob problem. If that is the case, the question is how I can get back the cookie that made windows media the default video player. Does that mean I have to reinstal my Safari and Mozilla browsers? If so, I have to figure out how to do it. If it doesn't, probably there's a setting in your SBC account instead which defines that preference, cause it's getting it from somewhere. Websites get their info about your account in 2 ways really - long term cookies (stored on your computer) or information stored in their database which is read when you login. It will be one of those two, you just need to work out which ;-)) Cheers - Neil > Does that mean I have to reinstal my Safari and Mozilla browsers? No, don't reinstall anything yet - there's no compelling reason to do so. If in doubt, ask the Yahoo webmaster by email about what you can do to reset your settings on their site. >If so, I have to figure out how to do it. That's another newsgroup entirely ;-)) Cheers - Neil |

Neil
Thank you for your help. I have recontacted SBC yahoo again thru chat, phone, email, etc and nobody can help me but one person did seem to think that the windows media player for Mac was the default player on the SBC yahoo home page and suggested I download it again and she connected me to the download, so I did as I had done several times before and again it didn't work. It also didn't work on the PBS on line news hour although the real player did. So I am going to call apple tomorrow but I'm afraid they will just refer me to microsoft. But I will try anyway. Thank you. "Neil Smith [MVP Digital Media]" wrote: > On Tue, 3 Jan 2006 10:05:02 -0800, "dalia" > <dalia@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > > >Hi Neil, thank you.
