Is there any way to fool WMP into using only the
DriveLetter:\DirectoryPath\File when loading music to a library? (I have tried SubSt, Net Use persists, etc.. but it always pulls the UNC path.) Reason: I have created a Music share within my network so each of my PC can access a common place rather than having it on each PC. Up to this point is does not matter what path is used because they are all in the same network. However, if I had this share mapped to lets say "M:" it would still work in my network. Now, I also have created a backup of this music share on an External Drive, which I take with me when I am out of town. I would like to plug the External Drive in, map it as "M:" and have my WMP simply play form my current Libraries, play lists, etc. Currently WMP resolves all drives to their UNC value and requires me to clutter up my Libraries by reloading all music with the new path location. I hope this makes since and someone can see the relevance. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.. |
