Media Player's library just knows where the files are located on your hard drive. Chances are that many files are already located in the My Music folder inside My Documents. How are you searching for music files with Windows Explorer? Are you using the "pictures, music or video" search option? |

I to am having the same issue, when I try to locate my music files in
explorer I cannot find them in my music or any other location, I asked some one about this and they said it was because the music files aren't active, is this correct? I am looking for all files in explorer music pictures etc as I am trying to convert the WMA files to MP3 to transfer onto my PSP. Any help would be appreciated!! |

I asked some > one about this and they said it was because the music files aren't active, is > this correct? I haven't a clue what 'active' means, but because they are just *files* then they should be easy to find. > I am looking for all files in explorer music pictures etc as I am trying to > convert the WMA files to MP3 to transfer onto my PSP. That will show you which folder on disk that track is in. You should in theory find many more nearby. 2. Look in Tools > Options > Library [tab] > Monitor Folders [button] - that shows where WMP is looking for music file updates 3. Look in Tools > Options > Rip Music [tab] - that shows where it puts music files that you have ripped from CD. |
