Default I can't see the entire Video

I have Windows Media Player version 10, and run Windows XP Home addition. I
cannot see the entire area of the video stream, but even before I upgraded, I
could not see the entire video. It is cropping the image and only showing a
part of the video image, actually leaving out about 1 inch of the edges. I
have viewed the same video clips on the computer at work, and have been able
to view the entire video area. I have tried resizing the picture, fitting
the picture to the screen, fitting the picture to the player, and nothing
helps. Can anyone help me "get the whole picture"?
