I purchased two identical PCs in March this year to use in two different
residences. On one machine I cannot load update Windows XP manually or automatically. The Update prog tells me which updates I need but when I click Express or Custom the downloads fail. When I check update history I have an error code 0x80200010. I now have accumulated 26 failed security and critical updates since purchase. The vendor of the machine does not know what the problem is. I have tried turning off the firewall and the virus checker during the update procedure. Can anyone help? |

The same thing is happening to me on all 4 of my XP machines. Same trouble
number. For the past 5 months I've had to manually type in each KB number in the Search Microsoft window and the update will download and install successfully from there. BTW, automatic updates suddenly stopped working on all 4 machines in June as well. Actually, it probably started way before that but it wasn't until June that I noticed that Auto Update hadn't prompted me to install an update in a very long while and I became curious. That made troubleshooting impossible because I had no idea when everything went South and couldn't backtrack the problem. I've tried everything under the sun short of reinstalling Windows - or possibly just Service Pack 2... which contained the newest version of Windows Update at the time. Wish I could help but I got tired of it and gave up long ago. Yes, Yes, Yes, and Yes! I have Panda Antivirus running on all four machines.
The link you gave me went to the Spanish language site but that's okay. I went to Panda.com support/knowledgebase and typed in the .exe number and there it was. And it worked!!!!! Thank you. You're a genius! Have a happy day! "TaurArian [MVP]" wrote: > BG_E_NETWORK_DISCONNECTED > 0x80200010 > The network card is inactive or disconnected.
