BITS update install fails

I'm running Windows Server 2003 and getting a message that updates are
ready for download. The update that is trying to download and install
is the BITS 2.0 and WinHTTP 5.1 (KB842773). The download completes,
and it appears that the installation is taking place. After a few
seconds I get a dialog box with the message: "The following updates
were not installed: BITS 2.0 and WinHTTP 5.1 (KB842773)".

I've attempted this installation at least six times, but I can't get
past this failed installation so I can't do any newer Windows Updates
on the server. How can this be resolved??

I have done a manual download of this update and installed it from this
and it updates OK. I have also had to do this with the Windows
Installer Update on a few servers.

Thanks for the suggestion! I downloaded and tried the manual install,
still get an error which now says "Failed to Install Catalog Files."
Still I do appreciate the suggestion.

Any more ideas??? Anybody???
